I was growing a tomato plant when my 6 year old started following me and mumbling names in front of my plants.

I asked him what he was doing and he replied "Mommy you always told me a name makes you what you are and so I decided that I need to give the plants a name to encourage them to make mini plants"

There is some research which shows that plants grow and produce better when naming plants - supposedly they also like listening to classical music!
