Paige's enchanted garden is actually a fairly garden which my 11 year old daughter and I started our garden in March.

It is still a work in progress but she is planning to enter it into the Magic Onion's fairy garden contest in July. She is having a blast adding new things and coming up with new ideas and has gotten her grandmother and great-aunt involved.

All the fairies have names but the original 4 represent her and her three cousins who are very close.

I have to include two pictures to show the full scope of the garden.

That is really GREAT!
by: Kiddiegardens

Hi,

That is really great that your grandson has carried on with his own creation and that they have managed to combine gardens. I can sort of imagine a Dragon-themed garden and a Pixie-themed garden together, but it would be really nice to have a specific page showing off their handy work here too - and yes, I will most definitely be checking out their pictures, just can't add one manually to this page and would not want to without your permission anyway! Maybe you could submit a page with pictures just for him?

I think it is really good that you are encouraging your grandchildren with gardening - it was initially my grandfather who inspired me! We have not long moved house and the new garden is potentially lovely, but still more of a field than a garden, so I am hoping to involve me granddaughter in slowly turning it into a REAL garden.

Miniature gardens are fun, but growing their own fresh vegetables is even better and gives them a good sense of achievement, even if it is limited to a few radishes on the window sill. Do you find that he will be more adventurous with veg or even flowers he has grown himself?

Thanks for the update btw, it is always lovely to hear how things have progressed. Hopefully in a few years time you will be able to recommend their big garden projects or even their new television programme! :)

Update
by: Cheryl

Thanks so much for including Paige's garden on your site. The garden you have was her 2012 entry in the contest.

For 2013, my grandson Devin got involved and the garden was expanded to included both Paige's Pixieland and Devin's Dragonworld. They were a featured garden and one of the 18 finalist out of over 200 entries in the 2013 Magic Onions Fairy Garden contest.

Please check out their website(just garden pics) at www.pixiesanddragons.weebly.com. Thanks again for promoting gardening with children, my grandson loves eating things directly from the source!
